ADMISSION
General Admission Requirements
- Students must be Christians in good standing with their churches, having a genuine
desire for Christian service, and have attained the age of 20 by the beginning
of their first year course.
- Two years’ working experience is normally required except for those who possess
a properly accredited university degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in English/Chinese/Tamil* is necessary for the courses applied in
respective language department. Those applying for English department are required
to sit for English language examination. Tamil* and Chinese stream students will
find conversational English an advantage.
- A recommendation from Pastor of churches is required.
*Proficiency in Tamil Language is only applicable to Tamil TEE courses.
Course Requirements For Admission and Graduation
- Certificate of Christian Ministry (CertCM)
This is a one-year program of 30 credit hours, for those with SPM/O'Level or
equivalent. Aggregate of 35 and less in best five subjects. This programme is
also suitable for Church workers as a refresher course.
- Diploma of Christian Ministry (DipCM)
This is a two-year program of 60 credit hours for those with SPM/O'Level or equivalent.
Aggregate of 35 and less in best five subjects.
- Bachelor of Theology (BTh)
This is a four-year program of 120 credit hours for those with SPM/O'Level or
equivalent. Aggregate of 30 and less in best five subjects. A Pass in English
is required.
- Bachelor of Divinity (BD)
This is a four-year program of 120 credit hours for those with HSC/STPM/A' Level
(minimum, 2 Principal Passes plus 2 Subsidiary Passes) or its equivalent.
- Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies (GradDipCS)
This is a one-year post-graduate program of 30 credit hours at the Master of
Divinity level. It is opened to graduates of recognised universities, or those
with equivalent qualifications.
- Master of Christian Studies (MCS)
This is a post-graduate program offered to graduates of recognised universities,
or those with equivalent qualifications. This is a 60 credit hour program, equivalent
to two years of full-time academic studies. STM is offering the courses on a part-time
basis through the TEE Department. Further details on admission can be obtained
from the TEE Director.
- Master of Divinity (MDiv)
This is a three-year post-graduate program of 90 credit hours; open to graduates
of recognised universities, or those with equivalent qualifications.
- Master of Ministry (MMin)
This is a post-graduate program offered to pastors and church workers who possess
a first degree in theological studies and have two years of ministerial experience.
It is a one-year program for full time studies and five years for part time studies.
- Master of Theology (MTheol) [SEAGST]
This is a post-graduate research program under SEAGST, for those who possess
a first degree in theological studies and have two years of ministerial experience.

has officially offered the MTheol, major in Pastoral Theology in 1996. Research
students can enrol on a full-time or part-time basis. Further details on admission
