STM offers opportunities for those who are not able to enrol for full-time study to avail themselves of theological education. The TEE Department covers three language departments, i.e. The English, Chinese and Tamil Department. The TEE Department is offering modular courses leading to the Certificate of Christian Ministry ( CertCM ) and the Diploma of Christian Ministry ( DipCM ) for under-graduates, Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies ( GradDipCS ) and the Master of Christian Studies ( MCS ) for graduates. This program is designed specifically for the training and advancement of lay leadership in the church.

The Chinese TEE Department offers the following programs :

0. Certificate of Christian Ministry ( CertCM )
0. Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies ( GradDipCM )

The Certificate of Christian Ministry ( CertCM ) and Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies ( GradDipCS ) are a 30 credit hour study program. They consist of five core courses and five electives ( 15 credit hours each ).

The remaining five courses may be taken from a selection of electives offered in areas such as General Course, Bible Class, Church History and Christian Theology, Church and Ministry, Evangelism and Mission.


Duration of Study :

• Two to four years of part-time study for both CertCM and GradDipCS, depending on individuals.

Admission Requirements :

• Strong conviction for Chinese Ministry and actively involved in local church ministry. Lay leaders, Sunday School teachers and Youth leaders are encouraged to apply for the course.
• Proficiency in Mandarin language.
• SPM with an aggregate of 35 and less in best 5 subjects or UEC from Chinese High School for admission into the Certificate of Christian Ministry program.
• Those who possess university degree may be admitted into the Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies program.
• Those who are 30 years old and above may apply as Special Students.

Further Studies :

• Holders of the CertCM and the GradDipCS may further their studies into the DipCM and MCS program respectively under the TEE department.
  
  
• Students may also transfer 2/3 of the total credits to further into the second year of the STM internal full-time BTh / BD program, or the second year of the MCS / MDiv program, provided the necessary entry requirements are met.

Currently, the courses are offered at Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh.
