STM offers opportunities for those who are not able to enrol for full-time study to avail themselves of theological education. The TEE Department covers three language departments, i.e. The English, Chinese and Tamil Department. The TEE Department is offering modular courses leading to the Certificate of Christian Ministry ( CertCM ) and the Diploma of Christian Ministry ( DipCM ) for under-graduates, Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies ( GradDipCS ) and the Master of Christian Studies ( MCS ) for graduates. This program is designed specifically for the training and advancement of lay leadership in the church.

The English TEE Department offers the following programs :

0. Master of Christian Studies ( MCS )

The Certificate of Christian Ministry ( CertCM ) is a 30 credit hour study program consisting of 12 credit hours of core courses and 18 credit hours of electives.

The Diploma of Christian Ministry ( DipCM ) is a 60 credit hour study program which requires another 30 credit hours of study above that required for the CertCM. For the latter 30 credit hours of study, the study requirement is again 12 credit hours of core courses and 18 credit hours of electives.

Admission Requirements :

• SPM Grade III certificate or its equivalent.
• Those who are 30 years old & above, have involved in full-time Christian ministry for five years or more may also be considered for admission into either study programs.
• Proficiency in English language.

The Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies ( GradDipCS ) is a 30 credit hour post-graduate program consisting of 12 credit hours of core courses and 18 credit hour of electives.

The Master of Christian Studies ( MCS ) is a 60 credit hour study program which requires another 30 credit hours of study above that required for the GradDipCS. For the latter 30 credit hours of study, the study requirement is again 12 hours of core courses and 18 credit hours of electives.

The remaining six courses at each level can be taken from a selection of electives offered in areas such as Biblical Studies, Practical Theology, Church History, Christian Ethics, Mission Studies, Christian Education, Malaysian Religions, Christian Spirituality and others.


Admission Requirements :

For both programs, the prospective applicant should have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.


Duration of Study :

• The CertCM and GradDipCS ( 30 credit hours ) can be completed in two to four years depending on the frequency of courses completed each year.
  
  
• DipCM and MCS are 60 credit hours study programs. The duration of study may range from three to seven years.

Further Studies :

TEE students who have completed the DipCM or the MCS can further their theological studies in-campus in the following manner :

• DipCM graduates ( 60 credit hours ) may enrol for the STM internal full-time Bachelor of Theology ( BTh ) program for 80 credit hours of study to graduate with the BTh. This is approximately 5 semesters or 2˝ years of study in-campus;
  
  
• MCS graduates ( 60 credit hours ) may enrol for the Master of Divinity ( MDiv ) program for 45 credit hours of study to graduate with the MDiv. This is approximately 3 semesters or 1˝ years of study in-campus.

Presently the above certificates and degrees are offered in five centres :

• Seremban STM campus
• Faith Methodist Church, Kuching, Sarawak
• The Heritage Centre, Petaling Jaya Evangelical Free Church, Petaling Jaya
• Malaysian Care, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kuala Lumpur

Specific Programme

• The CertCM in Social Ministry is a collaboration between Seminari Theoloji Malaysia, Malaysian Care and Bible College of Malaysia. It is a 30 credit hour study programme consisting of 6 required courses and 4 core courses.
• The CertCM/GradDipCS in Youth Ministry is a 30 credit hour study programme consisting of 5 required courses, 4 core courses and 1 elective.

Admission Requirements

• SPM Grade III certificate or its equivalent with an aggregate of 30 or less of 5 subjects and a bachelor's degree or its equivalent to be qualified for GradDipCS.
• They must be 30 years old and above and have been involved in full-time Christian ministry for five years or more. They may be considered for admission into either study programmes.
• Proficiency in English language.
